How we rank

Our goal is simple: help you find the right AI fantasy or roleplay app without wasting money. Here's exactly how we rank, score and rank — and how we stay independent.

What we evaluate

We score every app across six core areas, weighted toward what matters for fantasy and roleplay:

• Chat quality & realism — how natural, coherent and in-character the conversation feels.
• Roleplay & story — scenario depth, in-character consistency and how immersive it is.
• Memory & context — how well it remembers details and keeps continuity over time.
• Images & media — quality and consistency of image (and where offered, video) generation.
• Value — what you get for the price, free-tier quality and pricing transparency.
• Privacy & safety — data handling, billing discretion and clear adults-only policies.

How scoring works

Each area gets a score, and we combine them into an overall rating out of 5. We weight roleplay, chat quality and memory most heavily because they define the experience on a fantasy/roleplay site. A high overall score means an app does the important things well — not just that it has the most features.

In-depth testing

We sign up and actually use each app — testing conversation, roleplay, customization, images and the free tier where available. We re-check apps periodically because this space moves fast: features, models and pricing change often, and our rankings are updated to reflect that.
